Hi, I’m Kathy!
I grew up in rural Northfield, and as a young child spent my days exploring the outdoors, a nearby creek to catch tadpoles, and climbing trees.
My mother taught me to sew. At 8 years old, I joined 4-H and entered projects at the Rice County fair. By high school, I was designing and constructing my own clothes, copying fashions in magazines.
I started quilting after I married, making baby quilts for our children. Many, many bed quilts later, a friend and I started to design and make wall hangings of nature. We started with trees, then birds, and flowers followed. There’s hardly a day that goes by without me thinking of and starting another project.
I love all that it entails; design, choosing fabrics, cutting, arranging the pieces, then finally quilting everything in place. Nature, coming to life.
